One-stop shop for your entertainment needs: Time Inc. releases new iOS video streaming app

Publishing company Time Inc. has released a new application that acts as a one-stop shop for video content from its many properties.
The Daily Cut, now available free in the App Store, lets you stream videos produced by Time, Sports Illustrated, People, Instyle, Entertainment Weekly, Real Simple, Golf, Cooking Light, Southern Living, Fortune, Food & Wine, Travel & Leisure, Essence and a plethora of other brands and channels.
Though basically an iOS version of Time Inc.’s newly launched website of the same name, available at dailycut.com, the app is pretty nicely done and has some compelling features you should know about.
The breadth of editorially curated video content served through the software ranges from in-depth interviews with celebrities to sports highlights, daily news and entertainment to fashion, technology and original series.
In addition to watching featured and trending clips, you can dive into specific vide categories such as News, Sports, Entertainment, Life & Home, Food, Fashion, Technology and Originals. Similar to Google’s native YouTube app, The Daily Cut supports watching video while simultaneously browsing other sections.
There are over 35,000 videos to enjoy, with more being added daily. The 10.7-megabyte universal app requires an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 7.0 or later.
