At its ‘Hey Siri’ media event last Wednesday, Apple said it would soon be releasing a brand new Android app, called ‘Move to iOS,’ to make it even easier for Android customers to switch to an iPhone.
It seems that ‘Move to iOS’ and ‘Move from Android’ apps will be released on the App Store and Google’s Play Store, respectively, alongside the iOS 9 software update tomorrow, September 16, Czech blog LetemSvetemApple reported Tuesday.
“Just download the Move to iOS app to wirelessly switch from your Android device to your new iOS device,” Apple writes on its iOS 9 webpage.
The software allows Android customers to move their personal information, data and non-DRM songs and books to an iPhone with ease, including any wallpapers you had on your Android device.
Featuring secure wireless transfer, Move to iOS allows Android-totting fans to transfer their contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts and calendars.
In addition, the app will even find and suggest iOS editions of free apps Android customers have on their devices while adding any paid app to their iTunes Wish List.
Apple’s ‘Switch to iPhone’ webpage offers additional information for switchers, including recommendations of migration apps from the App Store and Google’s Play Store designed to make the process as painless as possible.
Lastly, Android switchers can visit an Apple Retail Store where a Specialist will help them move their apps, data and settings to an iPhone. After the data has been moved to an iOS device, Apple will even recycle your old Android handset in a retail store free of charge.
