Rovio’s original Angry Birds game, the #1 game of all time, is now available for free in the App Store.
It is the first time the game that was launched in 2009 has gone free.
Hot on the heels of the price drop of the Angry Birds for iPhone from $0.99 and $2.99 (Angry Birds HD for iPad), the Finland-based company has removed the free versions of the games (Angry Birds Free and Angry Birds HD Free) that offered limited playable levels.
It is not clear if this is a limited time offer, but it doesn’t seem to be Apple’s App of the week as Weathercube is still app of the week on the App Store.
